Submission Deadline Approaching

The deadline to post your Sundial Exchange creation to the collection on AO3 is by the end of February 5th (as long as it's still Feb 5th somewhere in the world when you post, you're good! You can consider this 10am UTC on the 6th if that's helpful for you). On Saturday morning, the mods will be going through the collection and making sure that each participant has a complete gift from their assigned creator, which must conform to all of the guidelines below. If your participant does not, we will begin searching for a pinch hitter for them.
You will then have time until the end of February 11th to make treats (a treat FAQ will be posted this weekend) and for any pinch hitters to do their creating. We will open the collection and reveal works on the morning of February 12th, which is Lunar New Year. And we'll keep the collection open for late submission of treats for a full month after that!
Please read this post carefully, as it contains the posting guidelines we need you to follow.
First off: Please only post complete works to the collection! It can be very tempting, since the actual reveal date isn't until the 12th, to post half a fanwork with the intention of finishing it before the deadline. Please don't do this. Whatever you post should be a completed creation such that, even if you lost all access to the internet the week after posting it, it could still be considered a complete gift by the parameters of the exchange. If you want to post a completed black and white drawing with the intent of swapping it out with a color version before the deadline? That's fine! If you want to post your completed story with the intention of coming back and fixing typos before the deadline - or even a standalone story that you intend to be the first part of a series you will continue later? Also fine!
However, posting 3/5 chapters of a story or a half-finished drawing (or podfic, or other kind of creation) with the intention of finishing it before the 12th? Not fine.
If you need an extension, please contact us ASAP and we'll be happy to discuss it!

A final note:
We encourage you to take joy in what you’ve created as it is. Stating what it *isn’t* is not helpful, ie: "I wanted this to be better" or "I was going to make something different" in the notes or comments. The fact that you've created something for someone is special and wonderful. You are awesome! It doesn't need to be perfect. Let your recipient decide how they feel about the creation on their own, no matter how many flaws you think you see in it.
