If you would like to offer your services as a cheerleader or beta for the Sundial Exchange, please fill out the form below and post it as a reply here. And if you know of any other resources about beta-ing that others may find helpful, please comment and I will update this post ✨

Using a beta is entirely up to the creator - some people find it helpful, others find that it does not aid their creativity. This post is simply to help those who would like a cheerleader or beta to find one. Also please note that betas and cheerleaders offer their services because they enjoy doing so - you are not annoying them by asking them to beta for you 🥰

With thanks to [personal profile] teaotter for allowing us to use her post as a template!

Here are a few links - with thanks to [personal profile] bonibaru - with some thoughts on beta reading that might be helpful, but there is no 'one size fits all' way to be a beta, and these aren't rules!

We hope things are going well with your creating! If you need support/resources, here is the cheerleader and beta post. Feel free to ask there for encouragement or other help! 🥰

Since assignments are due February 5th, we've already reached the mid-point of this exchange and need you to check in. Please reply to this post (open for non-Dreamwidth users as well - just make sure to include your AO3 name in the check-in) and answer the following questions:

AO3 name:
Are you still participating? Yes/No
(Optional) Tell us something about your work so far: if you are excited, worried, have barely started, finished 4 different works, tried something new - share the feels and let's encourage each other! 🥳

Please copy and paste the following code into your comment:

Do you need to drop out?
No worries, life happens! Especially this year. Please let us know either here on this post or email us at sundial.exchange@gmail.com. Don't feel bad; the earlier we know, the easier it is for us to find pinch hitters!

Have you already finished your gift fanwork?
Awesome! We've created an Archive Of Our Own collection for this exchange which can be found here: Sundial_Exchange_LNY_2021. Click on "post to collection" to add your work, or check out this tutorial for more detailed instructions. Works submitted will not be revealed to the public until Lunar New Year on the 12th of February. Treats can be submitted to the AO3 collection in the same way.

NB: We are committed to being an accessible exchange. Vids and gifs must include content notes for flashy effects; here is some info on how to make light transitions more photosensitive-friendly in gifs and vids. All text must be able to be read by a screen reader. Alt-text must be provided for texts in PDF and for images, and loud spikes in noise must be denoted for audio. Here is a link to more info about how to write good alt text.

If you need to create an AO3 account and don't have an invite or if you encounter posting problems, please get in touch so we can help!

Please note that if you haven't checked-in with us in any way by January 10th we will consider it as a drop-out and will send your assignment out to pinch hitters.

Thank you so much for being part of the exchange and happy creating!
